A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of taking maternity portraits for Yomery Palacios! This booking was a little different than most...
I was first contacted by her sister-in-law, Sanya, who happens to be an old friend of mine. Funny story, Sanya and I had actually gone to the same school together as kids back in 2007 when I lived in Puerto Rico! Believe me when I say, it’s a small world. Sanya and her husband now live in Maryland, and before that she actually attended the same college as another close friend of mine.
As Sanya was looking for a maternity photographer one of her main priorities was finding a Spanish speaking creative, to be able to make Yomery feel comfortable. Needless to say, I never thought being a Latina Spanish speaker would become a crucial part of my business.
The day of the session we met at National Harbor in Maryland, also known as one of my favorite places. We had been keeping an eye on the weather, and although we almost had to reschedule, the rain held off just for us (haha)! From the charming boats on the water to the lovely Farris wheel on the pier this location means so much to me, and shooting portraits there is always a perfect experience.
Yomery was as sweet as can be, and she was so natural behind the camera. Our session was filled with outfit changes and the cutest little baby shoes and onesie!
