It takes 21 days to form a habit.
Welcome back, friends. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season.
It’s been a while since my last blog post…and do I have some catching up to do. It was important for me to take time off during the season, to spend time with family while they were in town.
Towards the end of December, I was able to give New Year’s resolutions some thought. We often times abandon our new year’s resolutions long before they become habits, but if you’ve made it this far, congratulations! The odds that you keep this up are in your favor. After all, it takes 21 days to form a habit….and today is day 21.
For this 2018 I promised myself three things:
Health is one of the most important day-to-day things that get’s neglected, and pushed back because of “busy”. Balancing appointments and routines can be overwhelming at times, but “busy” is absolutely no excuse. Health included eating well, feeling well, getting enough rest, and exercise! I’m not quite sure when I began to neglect sleep or adequate routine, but this year I am focused on achieving a healthier life.
2. Prioritizing Happiness:
This has always been a hard one. Focusing on what is truly important can be rewarding, especially after a history of self-sacrificing in small but in the long-run, harmful ways. Carving out time for relationships that matter the most, along with making sure to take time for one’s self. Our lives are what we make of it, and happy is one of those things we like to push back. “well, I’ll be happy when_______”, or “I’ll finally be happy if_____” have got to go this year. The time to be happy is NOW.
3. Improve Professional Presence:
This can mean a multitude of things: Updating your resume, LinkedIn head shots, and networking. But…for me, this was a much more specific goal.
The official public launch of The Flower Shop. This was a goal I had been working towards for a while, but hadn’t taken that leap to accomplish. I am proud to say the shop went live, January 11th.
January 1st is just a date... It is never too late to set goals. There is always room for self-improvement. My hope for you readers is that this will motivate you towards setting positive life goals. I know you will achieve them!
I have a big announcement: I will be launching the Valentines Day Line in the shop February 1st, just in time for shopping for that special someone. I have been having so much fun designing this collection of prints and products, and I cannot wait to share them with you all!
